Embossing FWAB flourishes

Here's my recent FWAB tutorial:

I really love my FWAB flourishes.  I would add them to every single page if I could!  I'm always on the lookout for different things I can do with them and recently, I decided to try embossing them.
I have lots of different embossing folders for my Big Shot ... like these ...p7258644
And while I didn't get progress photos for this, it's all pretty easy.
Step one:  Choose a "flat" FWAB flourish (like Jasmine, Luke, Jessie - not the pearl ones - you could even try some of the FWAB Outdoor range!)
Step Two:  Remove from packaging but NOT from the backing sheet.
Step Three:  Place in embossing folder and run through your machine.
Step Four:  Remove flourish from backing sheet and place on your project!
Easy as that!

I've used a FWAB Luke Flourish in Teal and a FWAB Jasmine Laser Flourish Gold on the above page, embossing them in a swirl pattern (Luke Flourish) and a script pattern (Jasmine flourish).
IMG_5804aLove the texture it gives!  And it made the flourishes curl up a bit - which I really liked - so I emphasised the effect and helped it stay there with tiny bits of foam tape.

You'll spy a FWAB Maddison Flowers - Chocolate there too!!
So, there you go, a nice easy tutorial to add some extra WOW factor to your FWAB flourishes!  Hope you can give it a go!

September Scrap The Girls

Hello everyone!  I'm here to share my take on the stunning Scrap The Girls sketch for this month:

Here's my page:
I love the sketch, but only had one photo I wanted to use ....

Miss B with one of her teachers from last year (I didn't ask permission to use her photo, hence the facial blurring, sorry!)

Have a great week! Thanks for visiting :) :)

FWAB gift bag and card

Hello!  I'm here with some of my latest FWAB creations today.

September is a big birthday month for us within our circle of family and friends.  One friend celebrated with a "high tea" party so I decided to decorate a kraft paper gift bag and make a card to match:

{I remembered to take a photo just as I was walking out the door on my way to the party!!}

I went with the colour combo of pink and yellow with white and kraft - I think it's a fun, pretty and fresh combo!

I kept the decorating really simple, using a FWAB Grace Pearl Flourish Pink as a feature on the bag.

On my card, I used part of a FWAB Chloe Pearl Flourish Pink and the tail end of the FWAB Grace Pearl Flourish Pink I used on the bag.  Together they look like a new flourish!!

I've also featured a FWAB Elise Flower - Pink on the card. Love my FWAB flowers!

That's all from me for now.  Hope you get a chance to play along with our September CHALLENGE!
AND don't forget to take advantage of our FAVOURITE $2 sale!!!

Spring has Sprung at SUYS!

There's a little taste of SPRING over at Show Us Your Stuff this month!  It's a gorgeous mood board!

When I first saw this board, I wanted to go all FLOWERS and GIRLY ... but, I just couldn't settle on anything ...
So, instead, I focussed on the BLUE HEART and the BIKES and the HELLO SPRING sign and came up with:

And, I still had some flowers too :D :D.  My handmade items are a Burdy's Embellies blue spotty button and a D-Lish Scraps blue heart flair.

I even found the PERFECT little bike chippies!!

Hope you can play along this month!  See the challenge details and more DT samples HERE on the Show Us Your Stuff blog :)

        Have a great week!

D-lish!!

I've had to say a sad farewell to Savvy.  However, when one door closes, another opens!
I'm super excited to announce I've been lucky enough to join the Spring Inspiration Team at D-lish Scraps!

There is a fabulous mood board every month for your inspiration and I was MOST excited by my first one:

Just LOVE this colour combo!!  It's fresh and pretty at the same time!

The sketch isn't compulsory, but I did use it for my page:

Almost all the embellishments are from D-lish...

The gorgeous sequin bow (need more of these!), the wooden leaves, the yellow flower and the flair ...

The pink resin heart, the mistable circles and all the flowers ...

and the yellow sequin strip (I really love these!!) ... some sequins fell off when I cut the strip ... so I just scattered them around the page :)

Hope you can play along!  You have until midnight 30th September to link up to the D-lish blog.  Check out the D-lish store for LOTS of gorgeous goodies!!!
